Miami trip in Photos - Day 6

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Time to go home. Nothing much to take pics of. Had to check out and stuff.

I totally forgot to take a picture of the exercise room but did so on the last day. Gotta get my workout on.

And a picture of the view from the room.

It rained and thunderstorm so much on the last day that our flight got delayed for an hour. Despite the rain, overall, it was just good to get away.
However, I do miss my hubby a lot. We plan to take a couples trip next summer. Hopefully a cruise :)

What to do, what to do?

We headed back to downtown Miami to say thank you for the sweet people who hooked us up with upgrading our rooms.

Then I wanted to go to Bal Harbour. The only reason was because my Indian stars were in Miami last year and went shopping at that place. I wanted to check it out! The Bollywood movie that was filmed entirely in Miami is called Dostana, which I blogged about in my Indian cinema blog.

All I can say is it's an upscale high-end luxury place to shop!! Too expensive for me to even look. Very beautiful though.

Me posing, haha. Typical Asian poses.

Me posing at Rainforest Cafe inside the Sawgrass Mills Mall. Looooved the food. The place makes you think you're at Chuck-E-Cheese but I was wrong! More pics on my MySpace & Facebook. Sawgrass Mills Mall is awesome too. It's a huuuuge outlet mall.

Since it was raining nonstop again, we didn't do much. We went to check out this ice cream place called Kilwin's since I wanted sweets! No wonder I can' t lose weight. They have homemade sweets. I have never had homemade ice cream before!!! It was yummy.

Sooooo, it was time to re-locate to a new Hyatt hotel. If you wanna stay free, then you gotta do it, right? We went to the Hyatt in Fort Lauderdale - Westin location, also known as Bonaventure. It's a resort and it's gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting to be checked in

Map of the facility

King Suite

This is the part of the property. No kidding. Gorgeous, huh?

Yep, this too....

Pool!!

Just when we were ready to sight see, it started to rain. All we did was take a trip down Las Olas and it started to pour down!!

Plans for the day - boat tour & South Beach
I have waaaaaaaay too many pics that I took on the boat tour so I just uploaded one here. If you want to see all of them, just add me as a friend on MySpace and/or FaceBook.

The boat tour was great; the weather was beautiful. Unfortunately when it was time for us to hit the beach...it rained - well, it was scattered :( Still, beautiful, unlike most beaches on the Atlantic coast.

Yah, got a picture of the clouds and sun trying to set, it looks spooky, yet beautiful

Well, now time to hit up Ocean Drive, which is directly across the street from South Beach. It's nightlife time! It's just awesome to people watch. Admittedly, I thought I would see more pretty people. I guess that's what happens when ugly folks like me come visit, huh?

The Versace Mansion!! It is now a tourist attraction and museum.

Right next to it is Hotel Victor, which is a part of the Hyatt. So we went inside. Got a tour of the famous pool where a lot of Hollywood movies were filmed. Even a celeb was staying that night! Person up front told me (it was a guy, didn't want to call him a receptionist, lol) said Jake Gyllenhaal was staying the night.

The pool has a sexy vibe. Just the night before, there were 350 people in the pool!! It was the Black Film Festival and celebs like Usher, Sana Lathan, Diddy, and others were there.

So....decided to go to Key West the next day. I wanted to see the sunrise in Key West. Since the rental car is under my name, I decided to drive around town. No problemo!

Since working out makes me stay up, I really didn't sleep at all!! We planned to leave Miami at 3 AM. So around 2 AM, I woke up to work out. The exercise room was a bit small.

But I freaking love the elliptical machine!!!! Plus I also love the Hyatt's complimentary stuff there - water, gry and heated towels, headphone, etc

It took 3 hours to get to Key West. Yes, I was falling asleep too! You know what I did? I burned three CDs -- Bollywood remixes, Korean (Taebin & Tae Yang - in one), & Japanese (Ayoma Thelma).

Made it in time to see the sunrise!!! Beautiful!!!!!!!!

Sooo peaceful, full of serenity

Unfortunately, most of the day spent at Key West was drowning in rain :( When we finally got to the Southernmost Cafe to eat, we looked around the area. Sadly, I didn't take as many pics as I would like because it started to pour down again.

Miami trip in Photos - Day 1

Only selected pics were used in this blog since I've taken around 400 pics, not necessary all of myself :)

Thursday - June 25, 2009

I have not flown anywhere since 2002...something like that so it was interesting to see how a lot of things have changed.

Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta is one of my largest and businest airports in the USA, along with Denver and Chicago's airports.

How I miss being able to watch the airplanes fly when saying goodbye to a love one!

Yah, complimentary of AirTran. I get to read something on my favorite Hollywood hottie -- Will Smith -- he's my fave for acting, looks, talent, personality, etc.

This is all you get on the flight now. Pretzels and a drink, but look how small that cup is and they fill it up with sooo much ice!!

View of Miami from the top

Waiting for a shuttle bus to get rental car

Waiting in the gorgeous lobby of the Hyatt in downtown Miami

We're in Room 2315, which is the Regency Suite. Rolling 1st class!

Room...kinda small for three ladies, hehe

But can't complain, friend got hookup at the hotel, stayed for free. Plus in the Regency Suite, we get complimentary snacks and drinks.

Decided to hit Bayside Marketplace, which is a 10-minutes walk. Just checking out the scenery

These gorgeous Banyan trees are everywhere in Miami
