Ha Roo Baghn: Korean bakery

Father's Day is this Sunday but I celebrated it last week with my parents. This weekend is my baby brother's second part to his Hmong wedding so I knew they would be busy, especially since my dad's youngest brother, Uncle Yeng, is flying from WI to GA for the event.

Since both of my parents love fruits and aren't a big fan of sweet cakes and prefer Asian cakes, which are more spongier. I went ahead with a strawberry style Korean cake. I forgot the name of the cake.

Went to my favorite Korean bakery, Ha Roo Baghn

Yummy :)

Food: Chocolate Chip cookies

The other night, I realized I still have a few sticks of Land of Lake butter left. I only use Land of Lake for all my desserts if making it at home.

I realized I haven't made homemade cookies from scratch in a while so decided to do it today.

The green choco chip is made with pandan paste to give it a unique look and taste :D

Food: Shrimp Larb

Made shrimp larb the other day but didn't take pics. This pic was taken a month ago when I had a get together at the house with my sister and brother's girl friend.

I love eating shrimp but hate the de-veining and un-shelling part :D

Agha Juice & Cafe

My daughter and I have been wanting to go to Agha Juice & Cafe. It's just down the street where we live! It's just that we never think about it but when we do want to go, it's close :(

The hours are from 4 pm till 10 pm and closed on Tuesday's.

The samosas are good but I've had better. But when when we're craving samosas and don't wanna travel far, we will just go here :D

Also ordered the chicken boti roll. It was like a burrito, Indian style

We order the original Falooda. The ice cream is yummy. I wasn't too thrill about the "noodles" in the drink but my daughter looooved it!

Tom Yum soup

I made Tom Yum soup for the sick hubby a few weeks ago but planning on making it again this weekend since it'll be a wet, stormy weekend.

My brother's girlfriend also only eats seafood so this will be good.

For the meat, I only use shrimp and scallops.

Nyonya Asian Cuisine

Yummy! I love this place. I discovered this wonderful place by a co-worker who treated me out to lunch for always helping her.
Even my hubby does too and have taken his co-workers there.

I was sooo hungry this morning because I got to work extra early and had no breakfast.

Therefore, I decided to order lunch.
PS - they deliver :)

The lunch special comes with your choice of soup - Hot & Sour, Egg Drop, or Chicken Coconut with your choice of rice - steamed, fried, or brown.

I ordered the Shrimp Basil Lunch Special ($6.95) and Basil Roll (2 for $3.95).

And my favorite soup - Hot & Sour

After three hours, I decided to eat the Basil rolls, it comes with shrimp :D with peanut sauce

They always have awesome customer service there!!

Bagel chips & hummus

I'm addicted to Hummus lately.

What is Hummus?

Hummus (a transliteration of the Arabic: حمّص‎; also spelled hamos, hommos, hommus, homos, houmous, hummos, hummous, or humus[1]) is a Levantine Arab[2] dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. It is a popular food throughout the Middle East and elsewhere.

And used with the yummy hummas is the bagel chips, yummy!
